SME 2008 Advanced Inkjet Process Course Dates Announced

Franklin, TN - SME has announced the 2008 schedule for its popular world-class Advanced Inkjet Process Training Course. The first session will be held January 17-18, 2008, at SME’s facilities in Franklin, TN. Anyone requiring knowledge of the inkjet refilling and remanufacturing process will benefit from this training. “What could be easier than squirting ink into a cartridge with a syringe? Plenty. Syringe or other non- vacuum chamber refilling methods of thermal inkjet cartridges causes latent field failures, poor page yields, de-primed jets, and a host of other problems which all translate into an unsatisfied customer. Inkjet cartridge dynamics have dramatically evolved over the past several years and it requires much more sophisticated remanufacturing techniques to replicate OEM print quality and page yield. Our focus for this advanced inkjet processing training is to ensure that the attendees thoroughly know and understand how to evaluate, prepare, process, test, and market their cartridges.” says Allen Luthy, Director of Retail Inkjet Systems at SME. This comprehensive classroom instruction provides an in depth overview on the science of inkjet technology, including cartridge design and function, inks, foams, and related topics. The processes involved in the preparation, cleaning, filling, testing and final sealing of cartridges are taught in a hands-on informal training environment using today’s most popular cartridges. Participants work both in a lab environment and on the production line of a world-class industrial inkjet remanufacturer that processes thousands of cartridges per day. SME has updated this two-day inkjet remanufacturing training course to specifically address the needs of retail inkjet business start-ups. The course also includes advanced retail inkjet marketing planning, sales, pricing, consumer education, collection programs, and site strategies. Early registration is advised. The SME training schedule for 2008 is: January 17-18, Feb. 28-29, April 17-18, May 15-16, July 17-18, September 11-12, Oct. 23-24, and Dec. 4-5. With over 7500 systems installed since 1987 (including the popular Inkjetfactory® and CBR-SME product lines), SME is the world’s leading manufacturer of professional inkjet equipment. To enroll for a class or for additional training information, please contact Allen Luthy at (615) 794-6161, or sales@sme-us.com.
